The front desk woman when we arrived was extremely helpful, telling us what not to miss during our visit, with recommendations for museums, sights to see and restaurants.

Housekeeping was spotty at best. We stayed a week and had to keep asking them to replenish toilet paper, for example. The location isn't the best - it's in a sketchy area with prostitutes on the corners at night, plus it's a bus and a metro away from downtown, with very few amenities in easy walking distance.

    Superb

The first staff member we were greeted by was so lovely and welcoming. We were even upgraded to a room with a private bathroom which we hadn't booked. Loved it.

There was nothing to dislike about this hotel, the location wasn't fantastic but still easily accessed by public transport.

    Fabulous

L'Auberge Manoir Ville Marie is a very nice hotel in the Hochelaga district of Montreal. The hotel itself is situated in a historic building. The lobby is warm and welcoming. Our room on the main floor was clean, contemporary, and quiet. The continental breakfast, a help yourself, was delicious and plenteous and set in a beautifully decorated dining foyer. There is free parking just in front of the hotel. The staff was great and friendly. We enjoyed our stay.

    Good

Reception staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were accommodating for pets and for several people. Rooms were clean and good for the price. They offer a modest breakfast which is good for families trying to save a little money.

My family and I stayed for 2 nights and the rooms were never made. On the second night day we reported it to the front desk staff and they told us that perhaps the cleaning staff missed our room and gave us clean towels and help us to take out the trash.

    Very good

I reserved 1 suite and 1 double room. When we arrived, only the suite was reserved. Very bad situation when you are 6 adults! I should confirm with them on phone. It's the second time I have problem with web reservation in Montreal

    Fabulous

Stephan was extremely nice and helpful. Great staff!

The hotel rooms are out of date. The bed was comfortable but ther was no way to adjust the a/c and it was stuffy in the room. We would have opened the windows but it was very humid and rainy outside.

staff was helpful in making suggestions of what to do and where to eat.

Staff was very polite and helpful. Plus it was really, really cheap ($70-90 a night)

Bad location (violence across the street, plus a yeast factory stinks the place up) Breakfast was extremely sparse, sink in main hotel area, no staff after 11pm.

    Superb

Nice historical building (was converted from an old post office) with towering ceilings. Bed and breakfast with a very friendly hostel feel. Upright piano in the breakfast area. Ample free parking despite being fully booked.

Tiny bathrooms (I found them kind of cute). In true hostel fashion, some of the bathrooms are shared between the cheapest units.

The staff was very courteous and helpful. Free parking.

The environment outside - not very enticing.

    Superb

    Good price, free parking.

We had two double beds in a room, but the beds were smaller than at a U.S. hotel, so one of the kids slept on the floor. I wish I had booked the family suite. Also, no air conditioning in the room, which is fine as long as the temperatures are mild, but I imagine it gets quite hot in the summer.

Housed in a former post office, plenty of street-side parking, nice breakfast.

    Some serious problems with cleanliness
